The George Winter Solstice was born in 2011 when the George Squash Club committee decided to host a squash tournament festival

The first tournament was held in June 2012 and attracted 12 teams of 5 each. In 2013, 13 teams entered and 2014, 16 teams the most that we can accommodate entered.

From 2015 Louis Terblanche of RS Communication came on board as the main sponsor in 2019 Grayton Construction is the name Sponsor for the Festival. The tournament is known for its social nature, although the squash played is of the highest calibre.

The free Melkterjies that is served throughout tournament add to the festivities and together with Solly our Mascot has become the trademark of the festival as well as our legendary breakfasts. The next festival will be in June 2018 and more info will be available on the web from February 2018.

We hope to see you there!
